"Oh, thank God. The angels are here."

I love Supernatural.

I felt it's return last week like an EpiPen jammed into my neck.

As the summer months slow down I look forward to its season preimer more so than any of the other of the shows I watch. There's lots to like about it, sure. There's a Whedon-esk mythology too it, Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles are perfect as brothers who have that love/hate thing that only family members can bring about, and it balances humor with drama and horror better than most people give it credit for.

It has an underlining story of family, secrets, temptation, betrayal, and forgivness that anyone who has a family can relate too; that keeps a show about monsters, demons, angels and Satan, grounded. The shows creator, Eric Kripk puts it best:

"It's always been a show about family, much more than it is about anything else. The mythology is only an engine to raise issues about family. A big brother watching out for a little brother, wondering if you have to kill the person you love most, family loyalty versus the greater good, family obligation versus personal happiness..."

I think, though, more so than all of that, it's the opening recap of the preveious seasons - 'The Road so Far' - they always put together that gets me hyped.

Rock.

I love this show, though I imagine the UK will have to wait a while, as usual.
