Public Enemies - Powerhouse acting by Depp and Bale. Deeply nuanced story. Absolutely beautiful set pieces and cinematography. Incredible snore fest. Am I a horrible person for wanting this movie 'Michael Bay'-ed up a tiny bit? Just have him come in for one scene where Marion Cotillard is running in slow-mo while an apple cart detonates behind her ...ok, maybe not.
iPhone 3GS - Still not shipped yet. As my old phone bit the dust, this makes two weeks with no phone whatsoever. Withdrawal shakes have faded. Calm serenity setting in. Almost to the point where I no longer freak out for a split second everywhere I go thinking I left my phone at the last place I had been.

Twilight Zone Marathon - 4th of July weekend means there was another 3 day Twilight Zone Marathon. Why is it every time I turn this on I see the same 3 episodes playing? 'Eye of the Beholder'. 'The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street'. and 'Nightmare at 20,000 Feet'. Even though I clearly see there are a slew of different episodes playing at other parts of the day; for whatever reason I always seem to land the same 3 whenever I settle in to watch. Not that they're terrible episodes, but seriously, rotate that shit.
Tortoise - Found out that our new tortoise friend, Spike, is actually a juvenile African Spurred Tortoise. That will probably grow to 18 inches in length and weigh around 70-100lbs. There's no way im cleaning up the amount of crap that comes out of a 70-100lb animal. So long, Spike! You are outta here! We hardly knew ya!
Avatar: The Last Airbender - There's a teaser out for the M. Night Shyamalan's live action version of this movie that plays before Transformers 2. I've been reading a lot of complaints on the choice of the lead, Aang, being played by a white kid. Seriously? Whatever with that. In these circumstances my usual argument of "I'm pretty sure the story doesn't take place on Earth" seems to hold up. I'm more concerned about the lack of freak out over M. Night at the helm. It's as if he's never let us down before. It did get me to revisit the series on Sunday. Watched the 4 part series finale. Epic. I'm really not holding out much hope for the movie though.
"Schutzstaffel!" - Ahhh...Wolfenstein 3D; there's something just wrong about using a PS3 plugged into an HDTV to run a 17 year old game that uses ray casting to simulate 3D. But I still loved every minute of it. Eat it Nazi's!"MEIN LEBEN!"
4th of July - Every year I like this holiday less. As fireworks are allowed in my city its a non-stop barrage from 5pm to midnight. Fucking irritating. No good punk kids.
Malfunctioning Toilet – After a combined total of 6 hours over 2 days. Occasionally Runny Toilet? You have been bested. Neal before Zod…err Sven.
